Transforming Springfield’s Six Corners
into a thriving ecosystem for health equity, education, and economic empowerment
— all under one roof.
The JC Williams Community Resource Hub is a transformative initiative in Springfield’s Six Corners neighborhood, fostering health equity, economic mobility, and intergenerational change. Phase 1 focuses on renovating a 5,000 sq. ft. facility into a two-level hub featuring an Early Childhood Learning Center, workforce development classrooms, and a 1,200 sq. ft. shared-use commercial kitchen. This integrated ecosystem addresses the interconnected needs of low-income families in a culturally relevant way.
In Phase 1A and beyond, a 3,500 sq. ft. Connector building will add a gymnasium, mezzanine offices, and a rooftop community garden, linking the existing hub with planned expansions like a health clinic, cultural center, and food business incubator. This initiative goes beyond traditional service models by operating as a “community mall” for equity, where resources are seamlessly connected to maximize impact.
Rooted in the lived experiences of its founder, the Hub honors a legacy of generational healing and self-determination while creating a replicable framework for advancing health equity and economic justice in other cities.
